Alex Parlini
New Media Director and Project Manager
Alex Parlini serves as New Media Director for the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies at the Woodrow Wilson Center. His areas of experience include technology, media production, environmental science and Southern Cone affairs. He also consults on media development and design for the Center’s Foresight and Governance Project.
Mr. Parlini holds a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from The University of Maryland where he completed a specialty in Brazilian Portuguese and was the inaugural recipient of the University’s Certificate in International Resources Management. He has also participated in several cooperative resource projects in various locations throughout the United States, Latin America and Australasia. He was previously a project coordinator for Brazil @ the Wilson Center (2000 – 2005) which examined all areas of U.S. – Brazil bilateral agenda, with a particular focus on energy, the environment and technology. Prior to joining the Wilson Center, he worked in the research and translation section of the Brazilian Embassy in Washington D.C.
